Who we are
Wurks is a web studio based in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, UK. For this site, we are the "controller" of your personal data under UK data protection law. You can reach us at wurksuk@gmail.com.
What we collect
Browsing this site does not ask for any personal details, and we don't run analytics or advertising trackers.
If you use the quote builder, we collect what you type in: your name, email address, phone number (optional), business name (optional), the type of business, what you need, when you'd like it, and any notes. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you write.
Why we use it
Only to reply to your enquiry, put together a quote, and, if you go ahead, carry out the work. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and then performing that contract. We don't sell your details, add you to marketing lists, or share them with anyone for their own use.
Where it goes
- Cloudflare hosts this site and passes quote form submissions to our inbox. Like any web host, its servers see your IP address when you visit.
- Google (Gmail) holds our inbox, so enquiries are stored there.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr supply the fonts and the 3D graphics library, so your browser connects to them and they see your IP address.
Some of these companies may process data outside the UK. They are large providers that use the standard safeguards for international transfers.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't go ahead are deleted within 12 months. If you become a client, we keep project emails and records for up to 6 years after the work ends, for accounting and in case of any dispute.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email wurksuk@gmail.com and we'll respond within one month.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
